Perception Deception

Sometimes we feel disappointed in a relationship and wonder how the other person "tricked" us into believing they were perfect.

The deception lies in our own perception. The more desperate we are to be in a relationship, the better any candidate will appear. We see what we want to see.

The same thing applies to jobs, used cars, and financial opportunities that seem "too good to be true."

It's okay. This happens to everyone. But isn't this built-in human flaw interesting? This one little tendency gets events in motion and stirs so much drama in our personal stories.

Pay attention the next time you hear someone with a beaming smile say something is "Perfect!"
