Choice

Writer: Catherine NortonCatherine Norton

When we complain and feel stuck about something and continue to do it anyway, we are making a choice. "I'll be happy when" is a lie we tell ourselves when we have already chosen misery.

We open to happiness whenever we turn our backs on what doesn't work and try something new. The more we practice voting with our feet on small matters like shopping at the less crowded grocery store, the more empowered we will feel about the big ones - to end a relationship, change careers, or move out of state.

We don't "have" to do anything, but how often do we agree to things we don't want? Pay attention. Start small and notice how it feels.
