Losing Our Marbles

A psychology professor said we are born with a bag of marbles and lose a few at each developmental task we struggle to achieve. The more marbles we lose, the more we tend to be "stuck" at that developmental stage.

Some folks lose all of their marbles early and act childishly. Others lose theirs in adolescence and never stop rebelling long enough to be productive.

People who work to complete their youthful developmental tasks later in life can finish growing and get their marbles back.

In the 4th novel in The Stain series, Cassandra realizes she bypassed adolescence. She experiences a breakthrough that leads to tremendous growth.

Ask: Where did I lose my marbles? How does that relate to my behavior now?
