Deep Roots

When we stay firmly rooted, we can weather any storm.

Grounding Exercise:

Close your eyes and sit quietly with your feet flat on the floor.

Breathe deeply into your belly until your body begins to relax and your pulse begins to slow.

Imagine roots growing from the bottom of your feet, through your shoes, the floor, through everything, deeper, into the soft, yielding earth.

The roots spread in all directions around the world, and down, deeper and deeper, until they encounter a massive stone at the center of the earth.

Your roots wrap lovingly around this stone, weaving strong net that can never be broken. The stone begins to pulse, slowly, in sync with your heart, releasing a wave of energy with each beat.

Allow the pulse to travel back up through your roots, to your feet, up your legs, and through your core to your heart. Receive until you are full.

Sit with this connection for as long as you like and then slowly return your focus to the room.

Look at your hands. Look at your feet.

Do they look different?
