I made the mistake of assuming there would be depth and humility in those who have endured hardship and suffering. Not always.
When our egos cling to a notion of what should be, and the heart eternally mourns what is lost, there is only anger that prolongs the pain.
It's not until we surrender the concept of what we "deserve" and become happy with nothing, peace comes. That peace is followed by a kind of joy people who have "everything" will never know.
Nothing is far richer than everything.
